The babies are now 6 months old!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to my page. My babies are now 6 months old! So hard to believe 6 months have already flown by. 6 months ago today, I was on my way to the hospital for my second round of preterm labor. What a journey that was! After the original bout with preterm labor (a month prior) this time, we weren’t able to stop the labor process. I developed preeclampsia and had to get an emergency c section. My babies, Caleb & Chloe were 33 weeks when they were born. Caleb came out first, was intubated (breathing tube) right away and carried directly to NICU. Our daughter, Chloe, came out 2 minutes later. I was able to touch her cheek and she was taken off to NICU breathing on her own.

I’m so thankful for my birth team. I’m thankful for the excellent nurses and physicians I had available to me. I’m thankful that even though my babies were born as Covid 19 was starting to rage the Midwest, we remained unscathed by the virus and that my husband was able to stay with me throughout. I’m thankful that our babies champed through a very stressful, and exhausting month in the NICU. I’m thankful that even through PPD, I was able to breastfeed and keep up with these wonderful babies. I’m thankful that 6 months later I can talk about my beautiful, healthy, and thriving NICU graduates.

Thinking back to the twin pregnancy, even though it was tough, I would absolutely do it all over again in a heartbeat for these two amazing kids who made me a mom!! I thank God and my lucky stars that I am fortunate enough to be Caleb & Chloe’s momma. I am so in love with these two bambinos. It’s true what they say about parenthood, you never knew you could love someone so much until you have kids. This includes non-biological parents too!! I wanted to be a mom for a long time. When I finally became one, my heart was ready to explode. 💗

To all you parents who are expecting (adoption or biological) I feel you! The waiting game can be frustrating and difficult, filled with anticipation and unknowns. Just know that you can do it!! Especially to my pregnant mommas, you can and will make it!! I will post my first scare with preterm labor story, as it was one of the scariest times in my life. If I can make it through that, you can make it too! I credit mediation to a lot of my success. To all you mommas to be, feel free to contact me for any questions or comments!
