I can’t believe I’m admitting this…

I spend WAY too much time being crabby and grouchy.

It’s not the mom I desire to be.
It’s not the ME, I desire to be!

I don’t want to be a grouchy person in general…

This is one of the ways I’m improving myself this year!

Keep my boundaries high as heck.

Being totally zen and chill with the power of “no.”

I’m making self-care way more of a priority!

The top two things for me thing year are high as heck boundaries & rock solid self-care.

My toddler kids will benefit from me taking care of ME!!

When Mom can be a calm & chill leader, gently acknowledging my kids’ feelings & redirecting them away from X, it is everything.

Kids grow up learning what is okay and what is not okay, and to also feel like, “Mom can handle me when I’m upset, it’s okay to feel my feelings”.

Toddlers don’t have the skills to express their feelings verbally. They need to cry and act it out to feel the emotions because they don’t know how else to communicate it.

Having a Mom or parent gently acknowledge their feelings while giving them boundaries and a couple choices of what IS okay, helps the child feel confident that someone else is in control.

Choices for kids also help them feel satisfied that they have some say in choosing things in their life with the options.

When I can be the calm, confident Mom that my kids need, the tantrums actually show up less.

Keeping those things in alignment with my values helps the rest fall into place. ☺️

Are you feeling this shift too?

What are some of your favorite methods for self-care?
